As Accounting Intern I performed daily accounting functions for Prosthetic Design, Inc. (PDI) and its four related business units (Dayton Artificial Limb Clinic (DALC), Montgomery Motorsports (MMS), Dayton Physical Therapy (DPT), Slemker Properties, LLC (SPL)).
Accounts Receivable responsibilities included posting cash receipts for all companies, completing bank deposits daily, and actively working to reduce A/R balance. Accounts Payable responsibilities included posting invoices daily for each company, matching purchase orders to invoices, and processing accounts payable checks on a weekly basis. Some of my other duties and experiences include:
- Utilizing MAS90 accounting software.
- Preparing payroll to be processed for PDI, DALC, and DPT through an external payroll company.
- Completing bank account reconciliations for PDI and DALC.
- Developing and updated standard operating procedures.
- Updating meeting minutes for weekly accounting meetings.
- Reviewing credit card statements and allocated expenses to correct general ledger accounts.
- Processing employee expense reports.
- Preparing daily sales reports at the end of each business day.
TECHNICAL SALES & E-NETWORKING CO-OP

As the Technical Sales and E-Networking Co-op I was responsible for Technical Sales, Accounting, Marketing and educational partnerships at the organization. This position serves external customers as well as maintains vendor relationships. My primary function in this position was to support the use and sale of PDI products and their applications. Secondary functions included E-Networking, such as Facebook, Constant Contact, Twitter, Pinterest, design and creation of promotional flyers, and newsletters.
co-op group leader

The Co-op Group Leader assists Engineering, Technical Sales, Accounting and Marketing co-ops and interns by acting as a facilitator, mentor and connector. They provide guidance and supervision to a team of engineering co-ops to advance co-op projects by providing hands on assistance and personal involvement to all co-op projects. The Co-op Group Leader provides support related to engineering projects at Prosthetic Design, Inc., Dayton Artificial Limb and Montgomery Motorsports and works under general supervision with some latitude for independent judgement.

This study included the synthesis and mechanical deformation of silver nano-particles to determine the differences in light scattering patterns before and after deformation.

As Lab Director I led the day-to-day activities of a team comprised of two graduate and three undergraduate students. Day-to-day operations included creating tasks for team and delegating them to the appropriate individuals; Organizing the schedule for patient testing and research assistance; Identifying and testing patients in gait studies.
